Hello list, I'm using samba 3.x and cannot use newer HP print drivers (UPD). (They always print in black) I updated to samba 4.6.2 with the same problem. My question in the HP forum, did not got an answer: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Color-printing-not-working/m-p/6073483 My workaround for older HP drivers, was using the "printer defaults" and configuring a color printer manually, for every printer. But this does not work anymore too. best regards, Martin

Where the printers are installed in a private vlan (192.168.x.y) and are not directly accessible from the outside? For me it looks that samba needs this [x] enable bidirectional support to make color print work.
