Centos 7: UPD packet checksum verification?
Hi, what does Centos 7 do with UPD packets having invalid checksums? Are such packets inevitably dropped? Does a network card drop them when it does checksum verification in hardware even before the packets go anywhere? In general, if someone were to send me UPD packets with invalid checksums over the internet, how far would su...

Question on weird output from a Compaq R3000
Hi All, I put my Compaq R3000 UPS on NUT. Every once in a while the battery alarm light turns on, on the front of the UPS. Maybe once every couple of days or so. When that happens I get the following output in /var/log/messages: Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: .20 MOUL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: 0119.20 MOIL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: 0015.57 MOPL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: 0001.82 MOSL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown resp...

[CentOS7] Firewall trouble with Kickstart
helow my goal is to install via kickstart a CentOS 7 NFS server but I fail to set the firewall rules at installation time. We have upd(4) attaching to these devices now. Either nut needs a driver getting status from upd (trivial, will show up in the hw.sensors sysctl tree) or we need some way for nut still being able to talk to the ups directly, without upd and nut interfering with each other. -- Henning Brauer, hb at bsws.de, h...

...ecksumming: on" or off as in "tx-checksum-ipv4: off [fixed]"? As far as I understand it rx-checksum is the underlying wire checksumming - and from what I've read about it, disabling that disables the UDP checksums. > > Assuming that I do not receive packets with invalid UPD checksums, then the > packages must be somehow altered and their UPD checksums recalculated to > arrive here. printserver with HP UPD only prints black
Hello list, I'm using samba 3.x and cannot use newer HP print drivers (UPD). (They always print in black) I updated to samba 4.6.2 with the same problem. My question in the HP forum, did not got an answer: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Color-printing-not-working/m-p/6073483 My workaround for older HP drivers, was using the "printer defaults&quo...

Theora over RTP/UPD
Hi, I'm trying to get Theora working with a video conferencing application we are developing. This application sends the audio content via RTP over UPD, and as one would expect, there is a draft for how a Theora stream is supposed to be wrapped into an RTP stream. http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/theora/doc/draft-ietf-avt-rtp-theora-00.txt The problem is that it is not obvious to me how the raw theora frames should be put into the RTP format specified...
