samba - Nov 2016 - adding Windows client reverse dns entries

Once again, reading here and there and I am confused. 

I thought the W clients (both W7 and W10) reverse dns PTR records where
added by the ADDC automatically. 

This mornings testing (nslookup of client IP addresses) is not finding
clients via their IP addresses. (Forward lookups via hostname work
fine.) 

Do we (users of samba4) need to add each W client to our dns servers?
(Grated this would be a one time action requirement, if needed.)

What samba version do you use?
Early samba4 versions does not support (or have a buggy support) for 
auto-register PTR recors, as far i remember.

In my 4.1.9 it is also not working, if it fixed  - I'm interested in 
what version.

V4.5.0 on Ubuntu 16.04.1LTS for the DC's

Yes, correct if your setup is correct then yes this works. 
With a default windows install and with a few GPO changes.

I use windows to let it register and update its own record. 

My setup. 
Samba 4.4.5, win7 64b/win10 64b. 
Static and dhcp ips. ( dhcp is not linked to the samba DC ) 

I did set in the gpo, in network/DNS client.  ( computer policy )
The connections specific DNS suffix. 
Enable dynamic update. 
Primay DNS suffic 
Register PTR.
