Nut upsdev - Jul 2015 - Strange

I tested shutdown by pulling the plug from the wall socket and observed that I
was notgetting any notifications. ?Then I opened the NUT Monitor GUI and
immediately got notified.
What did I do wrong? ?I think that upsmon runs at startup so why do I have to
open the GUI?in order to get messages? ?

Are you sure this is not a coincidence? Sometimes there is a delay from when you
pull the plug, and when the power failure propagates through the NUT toolchain.

You should see a startup message from upsmon in /var/log/syslog.

Well, if the NUT Monitor gui is opened I get a message almost immediately. ?Both
a 'pop-up' in the upperright corner of the desktop (LXDE) and a
'message notification' in the system tray. ? But never a message in?the
LXterminal. ?
