[Gluster-users] Failed to perform brick order check. Do you want to continue creating the volume?
I'm trying to create a second volume on two servers that already contain a running volume. I would like to create this volume one directory up from the existing volume, i.e /home/firstvolume and /home/secondvolume. I keep getting this error: * Failed to perform brick order check. Do you want to continue creating the volume?* Can anyone tell me what this means? I tried Google'ing around but didn't seem to find anything that pertains to that specific error. Thanks, Ryan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://supercolony.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users/attachments/20141015/3a12a459/attachment.html>

This check sees if two bricks of a replica set are going to be on the same gluster server. This is done only when creating a volume. The check may sometimes fail, mostly likely due to address resolution failing. But failure to perform this check doesn't prevent you from creating volumes. As you can observe, a question is asked when the check fails "Do you want to continue creating the volume?". You can answer 'y' to continue creating the volume. ~kaushal On Thu, Oct 16, 2014 at 5:50 AM, Ryan Nix <ryan.nix at gmail.com> wrote:> I'm trying to create a second volume on two servers that already contain a > running volume.
