can anyone give a breif explanation about Jruby?

How to install Jruby?
and requirements for Jruby
a simple example?

How to install Jruby?


Download file(s) in http://dist.codehaus.org/jruby/ then extract.
Also look: http://jruby.codehaus.org/Getting+Started


and requirements for Jruby


JVM.
