Sqlite text field comes out as huge text box on Rails form
An Sqlite field that is defined Text is rendered on a Rails form as a big box, understandably because Rails does not know how big the field is. Is there a way to "resize" the text box after the fact? Can''t you go in and modify the view for the form or the _form.rhtml? RE: Sqlite text field comes out as huge text box on Rails form
I checked scaffold.css. There doesn''t seem to be any entry there specifically for text field sizes. RE: Sqlite text field comes out as huge text box on Rails form
The _form.rhtml appears to be the right place to make the changes! I''ll play around with the height and width properties of the text_area. Re: Sqlite text field comes out as huge text box on Rails form
If it''s been generated, yes. If it''s just created by the scaffold :whatever method, it''s a little trickier - I can''t remember off the top of my head how to change the autogenerated HTML, but the wiki can probably help. -- Alex Richard Williams wrote:> Can''t you go in and modify the view for the form or the _form.rhtml? > > Richard > > > > On 10/24/05, Alex Young <alex-qV/boFbD8Meu8LGVeLuP/g@public.gmane.org> wrote: > >>Cena, Resty wrote: >> >>>An Sqlite field that is defined Text is rendered on a Rails form as a >>>big box, understandably because Rails does not know how big the field >>>is. I''m having trouble with the open resource eclipse feature with rad rails (latest version 0.3.1)... CTRL-SHIFT-R is used to find and open resources in eclipse. This worked fine in the RDT plugin, but now that I''m using rad rails it''s not working. The open resource dialog doesn''t even open. Is this broken? Anyone else have this issue? This feature is a huge timesaver for me navigating around all the files... phil
