----------------------------------------
All,
After the introduction to Ruby at our first meeting, we''re ready to
dive into the development of real applications.
Here''s the lineup for the meeting:
- Rails Gotchas
You loved Obie''s presentation, and now you are ready to get started on
a Rails application that will spark a host of articles entitled "Is
the bubble back?".
In a nutshell, I''ll share what I wish I would have known before
developing my first application and code snippets to make development
easier.
- Group Projects
The best way to learn is through practice, so we''ll divide up into
groups to start work on a small group project. We''ll chat about
hosting, project tracking, svn, and more.
See a list of current project ideas:
http://atlrug.org/atlrug/show/ProjectIdeas
- Admin
We need to establish some sort of group leadership structure and also
consider a name change that has been suggested (atlanta.rb).
I will attempt to keep the Rails Gotchas discussion under 25 minutes
so we can focus on the group projects. I''ll post a copy of the
presentation online for reference.
Thanks again to Mark Cotner and Cox Communications for hosting the
meeting and providing the food!
Hope to see you there,
Derek
