Hey everyone.
I have a web dev shop in NYC and am looking to bring someone in for a
new internal project.
The core requirements are:
* You have a few production rails apps under your belt, and can
provide code for review.
* You have are familiar and have experience with working with
multilingual tools (gettext, etc.) and requirements.
* You are available immediately and can stay on to a lesser degree
afterwards for updates/changes. ("release early, release often")
Technical stuff:
* Working with XHTML/CSS (not necessarily design).
* Multilingual work with gettext and related i18n tools.
* UTF-8, double-byte chars, and other language/multilingual skills.
* DB design/maintenance skills (PostgreSQL, preferably).
* Familiarity with related development tools (SVN, Trac/Collaboa,
etc.) and automation tools.
Non-technical stuff (most of this is assumed but I wanted to spell it
out):
* You can work with others, take direction and know how to execute on
your own.
* You can participate / contribute in app features/design.
* You can work as the sole developer when needed.
* You like to build Rails apps (who doesn''t?) and have fun working on
cool projects.
* You like to play around with and keep up with the rapidly evolving
rails / ajax / web app universe.
Project details
* We are looking to get the project off the ground quickly, but will
need ongoing updates/changes once it''s up.
* The site will be run in southeast asia and will be managed from
Hong Kong and NYC.
* Telecommute is expected, but if you work in either city that helps.
* It is not expected that you know chinese (cantonese), but it would
be nice ;)
What we need:
* Please send your resume, including sites and/or code for review.
Include anything that you think would be helpful, especially
transferable skills in other languages/platforms. As a rails
developer I realize most of your work will probably be in something
else, so just include what will help me understand what you can do.
Please send directly to this email address.
Thanks!
Matt
(sorry if this is a repost. It hasn''t shown up in the list since I
sent it 6 hours ago)
