Rails - May 2005 - TMail charset conversion

Hi,

I''ve been using ActionMailer::Base.receive, and was surprised that the 
charset of mail.body is UTF-8 instead of the charset specified in the 
content-type header. This does not seem to be the default behaviour of 
TMail. I don''t think it is a good idea make changes to included 
libraries that are incompatible to the original version. Wouldn''t it be
better to define functions like mail.body_as_utf8, mail.subject_as_utf8?

Considering that emails are required to be in US-ASCII only, I''d say
yes. Any other character set has to be enclosed in a MIME envelope,
though subjects have a different encoding method.
