Scriptaculous blind animation jerky when DIV contains a lot of content
Hi I have set up the following example to illustrates the problem I am having with scriptaculous. http://www.webmaint.com/scriptaculous_demo.html You will notice the animation is very jerky and looks awful in Firefox, and it just about passable in Internet Explorer I presume this is because of the way the browser renders the data in the select boxes. Is there any work around that could create a smoother animation. Re: Scriptaculous blind animation jerky when DIV contains a lot of content
Very interesting demo Rob, I tried giving the content box a fixed height to help the animation calculate things and it will still incredibly slow. I have used Slide effects on objects that had a lot more content than what is in your demo and still had better results. I think the true problem lies in rendering the select boxes or maybe the table you should look further into that. Re: Scriptaculous blind animation jerky when DIV contains a lot of content
Thanks for your reply matt, I think your right, I''m going to try at a loading the select boxes into the DOM after the div has finished animating. Re: Scriptaculous blind animation jerky when DIV contains a lot of content
I am most curious to see where this goes - I am working on a project which has me rendering many many divs - and then trying to drag them. The performance is OK - but choppy quickly and in FF very quickly loses all semblance of a smooth render. I can see the case for the selects - as well as the fixed height, I don''t have any selects - and I have a fixed height, is there anything else I can do? Much obliged all, ~tim On Jul 24, 5:50 am, "Rob Aldred" <rald...-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> Thanks for your reply matt, > I think your right, I''m going to try at a loading the select boxes into the > DOM after the div has finished animating. > > Thanks again > Rob > > On 23/07/07, Matt <mattfoste...-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote: > > > > > Very interesting demo Rob, I tried giving the content box a fixed > > height to help the animation calculate things and it will still > > incredibly slow.
