Scriptaculous blind animation jerky when DIV contains a lot of content
Hi
I have set up the following example to illustrates the problem I am
having with scriptaculous.
http://www.webmaint.com/scriptaculous_demo.html
You will notice the animation is very jerky and looks awful in
Firefox, and it just about passable in Internet Explorer
I presume this is because of the way the browser renders the data in
the select boxes.
Is there any work around that could create a smoother animation.
Thanks
Rob

Clunky Xorg with latest 6.7 upgrade?
...eye on FF CPU and when it got unreasonably high
I would close pages or even end FF and restart and problems were
ameliorated for a while. It seems that FF accumulates resources and has
an ever-increasing CPU usage with what I normally have running.
But even in those cases I didn't see a "jerky" and lagging selection
window when I was selecting a region with ksnapshot. The usual symptom
was a slow redraw of FF windows when I switched between them or betwee
virtual desktops. I am *not* seeing those symptoms with the current
issue - looks like FF and plugins container (I wonder if I ca...

Is Jspeex still being worked on? Is there somewhere I can send the code
changes I've made to facilitate smooth streaming?

RELENG_7 jerky mouse and skipping sound
I just updated to RELENG_7 from 6.2 and I'm running into some really
annoying issues with jerky mouse movement and skipping sound. This
seems to be similar to:
Re: SCHED_4BSD in RELENG_7 disturbs workflow
This happens both with 4BSD and ULE.
I seems to happen when I'm compiling ports and a new cc/bzip2/sh
process fires off (I'm just watching top), I'll get the
skip/freezeup....

Wobbly jerkyness
About a month ago, David made a commit to wobbly to the spring engine which
has introduced some bugs. They are hard to explain so bear with me.
In a sense, the wobbly plugin does not seem as smooth as it used to be and
the windows jerk all over the place. For example, I sometimes notice that
when I move a large window (around 2/3 of the size of the desktop window),
If I moved it down, the top of

Songs stopping early on my player
I suspect the stopping behaviour is my mishandling of either OV_EBADLINK or
OV_HOLE.
What should I be doing if either of these values are returned by ov_read?
Having experimented more Winamp has no trouble with the "jerky"
songs. But the songs where my player stops prematurely pause for a second or
two in Winamp. And with WMP they continue to play properly, but from the
point where they stop with my player, the position indicator of WMP goes
kinda crazy.
I found that somehow I ended up with a *really* old versi...

asterisk performance
...red to SER server, and SER will route all outgoing calls to Asterisk server. My problem is the sound quality goes down if more than 3 concurent calls to PSTN.
Logically i think our system and bandwidth are more than enough to handle 3 concurent calls, but as the 4th person use it, the sound become jerky and a bit delay. So how can we improve the sound quality?
Thanks

herky-jerky audio
Just an update, and a follow-up question:
I'm making progress on this issue, and will likely have something working
very soon, now that I understand how the jspeex transcoding classes work.
Unfortunately, I will need to make a couple small changes to the jspeex
source code.
My question is - is anybody using jspeex for streaming speex-encoded audio?
It works great for static audio, but seems

First caught my attention as *usually* FF is the hog, although I have
seen Xorg bee the hog aoccasionally in the past.
What next caught me is when using Ksnapshot to select a region of the
screen the "window" no longer keeps up with my mouse movements, but lags
and is "jerky".
I have no custom xorg config, but have commented out the FF startup
in /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients:
# Argh! Nothing good is installed. Fall back to twm
{
# gosh, neither fvwm95 nor fvwm2 is available;
# fall back to failsafe settings

...a large data frame), just subsets of it.
It would also be quite useful if the width of the columns could be adjusted or didnt default to the size of the name of the column. (since the names might often be very big if the data frame was created using a function). Side-ways scrolling is quite "jerky" too.
Just wondered if this was on anyone else's wish list?
Simon.

low latency kernel?
Someone recently posted on the x2go list that he had a problem with
jerky videos playing remotely on Ubuntu, but solved it by installing a
low latency kernel that was available as an alternative. That made me
curious as to whether CentOS has an equivalent - or a way to build
something similar.
