Hi! Why is Ogg Vorbis better than mp3? Which basic technologies has Ogg Vorbis, that f.ex. lame doesn't have? Ogg Vorbis has a different psycho model than mp3, but what is the names of these models and what is the differences? Which advantages have Ogg Vorbis, that cant be implemented in mp3/lame due to compability reasons?
Thanks in advance!

--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. [vorbis] My apologies - I did not receive your mail
Spam Assassin tagged your email to me as spam, and killed it, and the only record of the murder is this email. If you are spamming me, please remove all information about me from your records, and then die a horrible, bloody, lingering death. If you are actually trying to reach me, please add the word "broccoli" to your email's subject. If you're interested in what exactly Spam Assassin didn't like, you can check the "X-Your-Spam-Report:" header of this email. As I write this, Spam Assassin has generated no false positives at all (your email may have the dubious honour of being the first), and has cut my spam from 40 on a bad day down to a couple per week. Again, so sorry! Sincerely, -Ben --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. I can't really answer this from a technical point of view, but I'm pretty sure MP3 uses the Lecter-model while Ogg uses Bateman. Bateman is a newer, more modern model. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Henrik Andersen" <peter900000@hotmail.com> To: <vorbis@xiph.org> Sent: Monday, February 24, 2003 6:03 AM Subject: [vorbis] Why is Ogg Vorbis better than mp3?
> Hi!> Why is Ogg Vorbis better than mp3? Couldn't help myself. =) --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
