The Direct/Active-Show/X/Movie subsystem in windows can deal with all existing file formats both for reading and writing. Only one ogg/vorbis plugin would have to be written and all apps would support Ogg/Vorbis... </DREAMING>> > > or is there any other software around which supports > > ogg for burning audio-cds ? marc/tokyodawn.org > > Try this one. > http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/He asked about ogg->CD-DA, mediajukebox does not burn CDs. Actually, as a reigtsered owner of Media Jukebox, I can attest that it can indeed burn audio cds. However, it decodes the ogg file to wav and unable to burn ogg > cd audio on the fly. Nonetheless, the ability to burn audio cds from Ogg does exist in this program. Some share. But many do, and the reason for this is usually that each app has different requirements for plugins,> The Direct/Active-Show/X/Movie subsystem in windows can deal > with all existing file formats both for reading and writing. > Only one ogg/vorbis plugin would have to be written and all > apps would support Ogg/Vorbis... </DREAMING>Sure, all Windows apps would then be able to play Ogg Vorbis, but then what if the Winamp people want the plugin to create its own configuration widget and about box ? Life, sadly, isn't 0s and 1s ;) Rik --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
