Re: Ogg Internet Drafts - create application/ogg-vorbis, application/ogg-tarkin, etc.
Dear David, I hope it's ok to forward your email to the developer lists. I have not seen a comprehensive scheme for MIME type naming and file extensions for ogg files yet - please anybody put me in the picture if there is. However, I have seen application/x-ogg used for ogg-vorbis files, which is according to MIME type registration rules an unregistered and experimental MIME type (see

Streaming ogg from filepointer pointing to archive of many oggs. Ogg stream does not stop after end of one ogg file - what to do ?
...chive file using SDL and SDL_mixer for playback. Therefore i create a FILE * filepointer, place it to the beginning of an ogg file inside the archive and hand over the filepointer to ov_open. ( command: ov_open(fp, &music->vf, NULL, 0) ). This works fine so far. The problem is: if i put many oggs together in one archive, the playback stops only after the last ogg file. Why is this a problem ? Suppose i want to play the ogg files in random order. The playback must end after the current ogg, so the user can select a random new ogg file, place the filepointer to it and play the ogg. So is th...

Recursively vcutting
Hi, I've got alot of long 1-2hr files which I'd like to split up into 5-10 minute chunks. ?I think this should be possible using a small shell script and vcut, but my scripting abilities are lacking. ?Does anyone know of the existence of a script which would do this, or know how I'd go about making one? So say I had a 60 min file (60mins.ogg) I'd like to issue a command

Ogg/Spots and Ogg/MNG
Hi, are these two dead, or just progressing slowly ? The only code I've seen about Ogg/MNG was a player in ogg-tools, and I've seen nothing for Ogg/Spots. I'd looked at those before adding bitmaps to Kate, and I went back to that a few days ago (storing subtitles as images from a dvd - works great in vlc, but I store images without compression). If they are dead, I'd be inclined

Re: Ogg Internet Drafts - create application/ogg-vorbis, application/ogg-tarkin, etc.
just for the record -- I think you mean video/theora when you mention vorbis+VP3. Vp3 is becoming Theora. Tarkin is another video codec project at Xiph. As for this whole MIME type issue, can someone enlighten me as to how this problem is addressed with Quicktime, Microsoft, and RealNetworks plug-ins today? Also, does an MPEG4 tag specify which audio codec is used? thanks - dan

Is there an "off" switch to prepare to repeat a call to ogg123?
P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }A:link { } Hi Ogg Fans, I have a puzzle. When I'm getting ready to plan a larger program, I often do some little experiments to see whether what I'm thinking is going to be able to happen in the way that I anticipate. My next project involves some playing .ogg files in a random order. I have three brief files which I have used in this experiment. I am
