Puppet users - Nov 2006 - ANNOUNCE: 0.20.1

The latest release is finally out; here is the changelog:

     Mostly a bug-fix release, with the most important fix being the
     multiple-definition error.

     Completely rewrote the ParsedFile system; each provider is now much
     shorter and much more maintainable.  However, fundamental problems
     were found with the ''port'' type, so it was disabled. 
Also, added
     a NetInfo provider for ''host'' and an experimental NetInfo
provider
     for ''mount''.

     Made the RRDGraph report *much* better and added reference
     generation for reports and functions.

You can get it from the usual places (i.e., http://reductivelabs.com/ 
downloads), and I''ll do my best to stick the packages on RubyForge,
too.

Are you interested in patches for you spec files to make puppet install
on various flavors of Fedora/Red Hat?

My current crop of desktops are running Fedora Core 4 (yeah, don''t bug
me about being out of date...) and the puppet RPM you spun won''t
install
because ruby and ruby-libs don''t define "ruby(abi)" in their
provides.

Yes, I would be very interested in patches; the same problem also
applies to RHEL.

Actually, I just fixed the specfiles for puppet and facter; if you go to
my yum repo[1], the SRPM''s for those two should build cleanly on FC4
(and RHEL4) now
