samba - Mar 2007 - changing samba password from windows client not in domain

I want users to be able to change their passwords but their machines are not 
in a domain, they have small workgroups between them. They only use the 
Samba server to access some shared folders.
If I am right, the only way to change it is Ctrl + alt + del and then change 
password, but then they would change their local password.
Is there another possibility?
