[Samba] Problem with group mapping and group management
Hi all, I have 2 PCs, one is running Debian 3.1 and one is running Windows XP Pro XP2. I'd like to setup my Debian PC to be a Samba server to share file. The problem is that: From Windows XP, using Computer Management Console, I can view shares and UserList but I cannot view group list. # ======================================[global] server string = %h server (Samba %v) security = users encrypt passwords = yes log level = 3 admin users = Administrator phuna add user script = /usr/sbin/useradd -m '%u' delete user script = /usr/sbin/userdel -r '%u' add group script = /usr/sbin/groupadd '%g' delete group script = /usr/sbin/groupdel '%g' add user to group script = /usr/sbin/usermod -G '%g' '%u' add machine script = /usr/sbin/useradd -d /var/lib/nobody -g 100 -s /bin/false -M %u [dave] path = /home/dave comment = Dave's home directory # writeable = yes # guest ok = true # force user = dave valid users = dave smb1 write list = dave smb1 [smb1] path = /home/smb1 comment = Dave's home directory # writeable = yes # guest ok = true # valid users = smb1 [share] path=/home/share comment = share directory # ====================================== I'm very new to Samba, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance -- Phu
