hi,
the last 3 days i worked out
ldap samba3 pdc solution on suse 9,
the exist dokus are frustrating
i final got it too work with the idealix
scripts included in the samba sources 3.02 Ldap example ( *rofl it can be so
easy ) i recommend to use smbldap cause i final
discovered ldapsmb it not longer developed by suse
the groupmapping was a desaster and it only worked if i setup the host,
matching to unix groups failed in every case
to use its own ldap server as master.....this was done by yast...so i didnt
know what yast did
exactly....but i will work it out with more study in the man files of
openldap.
now usrmgr work , after all it gives failure messages but funktion is now in
the state
which my smbpasswd backend pdc does.
my wish gets out to all sambatistas to work out
a good doku for installing
ldap samba3 quick and dirty (for the main distros), cause the posts from
this list are so heavy splitted in special problems , that it can hardly
used as a guide
here the links i used,
my plan is to setup now
bdc with ldap slave
