[Samba] NT: Cannot set default print options for client
Hi there! * I put my printer drivers on the [print$] share * Did everything as described in the Samba-Howto Colletcion (made the first connection as root, etc.) * Connected to the printers with a normal user and now I cannot change the default print options allthough the user is in the local Administrators group. Everything is grayed out. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thank you. +r

Dear Sambatistas, I still have no solution to this problem, please don't let me down. No, I have not setup print admin in smb.conf as it is ok for me to do server side configuration as root. And that works. If I log in as root, I am able to change and store the default settings. But if I log in as a user other than root I can't even change the default document settings. Everything is gray and inactive, even if the user is in the local admin group. +r > Richard Coates. > > On Tue, 2003-09-02 at 01:22, Rainer Hubovsky wrote: > > Dear Sambatistas, > > > > I still have no solution to this problem, please don't let me down. > > > > Best regards, > > +r > > > > > Hi there! > > > > > > * I put my printer drivers on the [print$] share > > > * Did everything as described in the Samba-Howto Colletcion > > > (made the first connection as root, etc.) > > > * Connected to the printers with a normal user and now I cannot change the > > > default print options allthough the user is in the local > > > Administrators group. I thought it is possible for the printer admin to change and save the default settings which the clients get when they connect to the printer for the first time and for every user to save her own default settings for printing. Is that correct? +r
