[Samba] Multiple Samba servers in single domain problem
I have a second Samba server that I would like to have join the domain. However, when I run the smbpasswd -j DOM -r PDC -U authorized_user (with the appropriate entries, of course) after adding the PC to my W2K DC, I get an error that says "Error connecting to DOM, unable to join domain DOM" where DOM is my domain. What is causing this problem, and how do I resolve it? Any clues and ideas are very welcome! Thanks, Kevin

I'm confused. Are you adding this to the W2K DC or the other Samba server? It only needs to be added to the domain controller to be a member of the domain. You can't add it to both. If I'm reading this incorrectly I apologize. -- Brian ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Bramblett" <kbramblett@dssresearch.com> To: <samba@lists.samba.org> Sent: Friday, April 05, 2002 12:31 PM Subject: [Samba] Multiple Samba servers in single domain problem> I have a second Samba server that I would like to have join the domain. > However, when I run the smbpasswd -j DOM -r PDC -U authorized_user (withthe> appropriate entries, of course) after adding the PC to my W2K DC, I get an > error that says "Error connecting to DOM, unable to join domain DOM" where > DOM is my domain. > > What is causing this problem, and how do I resolve it? > > Any clues and ideas are very welcome! > > Thanks, > Kevin > > > -- > To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the > instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba >
