Linux Kernel 2.4.3 GCC 2.95.2 GLIBC 2.1.3 Trying to compile the new 2.2.0 Samba release. Is there a trick to getting "./configure --enable-shared" to work. It says my libtool doesn't support shared libraries ( but it does for all other packages I build ) Is there a recommended GCC and GLIBC version for this release. Also.. docs/textdocs/UNIX_INSTALL.txt seems to be missing. Thanks in advance. Hi List,
I have installed and configured Samba 2.2.0 on my Red Hat Linux 6.2 Box.
However when I try accessing the Box through Network Neighbourhood from my WIn
NT/95 Machines. I get a error which says "<Domain Name> is not
accessible, The network path was not found".
Any clues on this would be helpful.
Thanks
Mohan P

try pingning your linux box's ip address and its domain
name and vice versa from your linux box to windows 98. if the
response is OK, try
testparm --> to check your smb.conf file, and then run
smbclient -L yourhostname(on RH) --> to see w/c shares are available
and also make sure that the samba daemons(smbd and nmbd) are running
I have a similar home network with Slakwaree7.1 and 2 win98 pcs. Im not
familiar w/ with winNT though. Hope this helps and goodluck!!!

Shinta
