my cc compiler cannot generate the .exe file
Hello
I would like to install samba in AIX 4.2 machine and I down load the samba 2.0.7 version, after I read UNIX_INSTALL.txt file.
But unfortunately I have the message when I execute the ./configure command that my C Compiler cannot create the .exe file.
In fact the version of CC that we purchased 3 years ago is just to run a compiled program.
What can I do please ?
Best Regards.

Hi,
How do I enable FAST_SHARE_MODES?
In UNIX_INSTALL.html I found
(...)
See also the FAST_SHARE_MODES option in the Makefile

but in my Makefile I didn't found this Flag, even though
I read somewhere that this Flag is set as default when compiled
for Linux systems. Where and how exactly do I set this Flag?
I have a Linux SuSE 8.0 on x86, but when I call 'smbclient -L

Problems with installation
Hi,
I am new with Samba, so excuse my primitive questions.
I just started installing Samba on an SGI origin unsing IRIX 6.4. with
windows NT workstations.
I was following the UNIX_INSTALL.txt file and I got blocked and step 4
where I should test my "smb.conf" file with the executable "testparm".
After I installed Samba by first doing make, then make install... I took

No INSTALL file?
Hi all,
Is there no INSTALL file that ships with samba? I thought there was one there
at one time.
Is the install procedure as simple as:
./configure [possible various options]
make
make install
Or is there more to it than that?
Thanks,

The OP seems to be still confused. SAM Broadcaster supports sending streams directly to Icecast servers, so Icecast does not need to be put in Shoutcast compatibility mode.
He doesn't need to use different port numbers, as mentioned a few times.
The mount points do not need to be defined in the configuration file unless you want different passwords or other unique settings per stream, as

multiple instances? Updated
Hello, Thomas_B._Rücker,
Initially I was asking for a working example file with more than one stream instance. Something that I can take as an example to work from.
I've not gotten that yet, despite posting 2 config files; both that came with the install package.
Trust me, if there were other choices for streaming servers than just icecast and shoutcast; I'd be running there to see if

Icecast 2.2
Hi,
My stream host upgraded me to 2.2 and since that time I am no longer
listed on the Icecast directory. I use SAM3 and it is setup correctly
on my end and my provider states all is set correctly there, but it
still does not work. Has anyone had this problem?
thanks,

I got back from school the other day and set up samba to avoid hearing

set up the standard homes share, but besides being able to connect to
