Hello, I'm using samba 2.05a on my slackware linux box and have just noticed something very weird. When I copy a file via network neighborhood in 98 to my home directory on the linux box the file is converted to all uppercase. Under windows even though it isn't case sensitive the first letter of each word is capitalized, but when I look at the files under linux they're all in uppercase. Any ideas? Thanks. Dave. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! Try it today - there's no risk! The initial capital in trhe file name when viewed on Win9x is purely cosmetic. jerry -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- /\ Gerald (Jerry) Carter Professional Services \/ http://www.valinux.com VA Linux Systems gcarter@valinux.com http://www.samba.org SAMBA Team jerry@samba.org http://www.eng.auburn.edu/~cartegw "...a hundred billion castaways looking for a home." - Sting "Message in a Bottle" ( 1979 )
