Network Neighborhood Connectivity to Internet SMB Servers
Is it possible for a Windows 9x Client to specify and connect to SMB Servers on the public internet? If this is so how is it accomplished? ______________________________________________________________________ __________ InterNetWorkingSolutions Your home for Business and Personal Computing Solutions http://webpageweaver.com PO Box 152 Cabot, VT 05647 USA TEL: 888.726.9030 FAX: 888.726.9030 info@webpageweaver.com ICQ: 29843943 ______________________________________________________________________ __________

They must have TCP installed and they must provide the full path to the share (ie browsing doesn't work outside the local network since that operates via broadcasting). In other words, rather than clicking down in the Network Neighborhood you should instead choose "map drive" and type in the name of the share (eg "\\host.example.com\d"). I use this all the time to work across subnets or against UNIX hosts. jim
