Did you look at http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=21530 It's about 2010a and closest to your version (2010a) You could try the same, install Matlab on windows and copy it over. Maybe some registry entries need to be copied too. About the error message, it might be a simple bug in wine's cmd.com implementation, some people are actively working on it, your best bet is to file a bug including the console output.
