Well, first I must say, my english isn't perfect. But I can explain my troubles. I have a PPC G4 and I wanted to use easy .exe . First, I tried to emulate windows in QUEMU, but it was too slow. Then I tried luck with Darwine. No results. I tried then to use linux wine. Required Intel. I've seen, you can use with QUEMU only the wine, no windows. Here are my questions: 1-How can I do it? 2-I need Ubuntu or I can use Mac? 3-If I can use mac, wich version of wine should I use? Thanks =D

You should visit their project pages for more information.> 2-I need Ubuntu or I can use Mac? >You can use MacOSX with Q[K]EMU. Again, the project's web pages are where you should ask.> 3-If I can use mac, wich version of wine should I use? >The latest attempt was with a version near to Wine-1.0.1. However, folks here recommend using the latest development version of Wine. Unfortunately, I don't have full access to my PowerBook G4 to test with. There are attempts to add PPC code to the latest development versions of Wine. I'm on an Intel Mac and use the latest development version for testing. James McKenzie
1. I have a mac as first OS, a 10.4 tiger. 2. I knew darwine is abandonware, I tried to use it. Where can I find that project pages, can you explain? And the last answer: I explain more clearly: I learned to use linux programs on mac, and understood, that you can run QUEMU for only processor, and use programs that I run in mac in this way. I asked, for wich OS should I download wine(ubuntu, debian, Intel darwine...) If I'm wrong please say it.
Hi guys, i'm brand new on this forum but i hope to help with my experience, just this here i bought form USA (i'm italian) a wonderful apple clamshell g3 with mac os installed, i just deleted it and i tried different distros (SUSE, SLACKINTOSH, YELLOW DOG, UBUNTU). I can say the most two valuable are SUSE and UBUNTU, i prefered the last one, also missing the wifi led, i preferred to install xfce desktop (it has the wonderful mac theme) because my laptop is just a 366mhz, but it works good! Now i looked around and i find (with google) that is possible to run x86 apps through qemu, on suse.org you will find a topic (http://en.opensuse.org/PowerPC_x86_Emulator) where they explain how to make an x86 emulator for ppc i didn't try it yet but it looks a good start! :D CIAO
