wine users - Nov 2009 - EPSON R390 DVD labels

Hi Forum

Brand new to Wine and Ubuntu 9.1.0!  (I have been using Red Hat/ Fedora since
1998)
I have installed an Epson R390, which sole purpose in life is to print DVD
labels.

I have not been able to find a Linux package to do this, so if anybody know of
one please tell me.

The printer works fine for printing directly from Linux.  It was detected and
the correct drivers installed the moment I connected it to the USB port.

I have tried to install the DVD labelling software from Epson running on Wine
(Latest Beta).

I have been able to install the actual label editor, but I can not install the
driver.  It does not see the printer through the USB port, and the label editor
thinks there is no printer installed.

I have looked at all the settings I could think of in the Wine configs, and the
Ubuntu configs, but can not find a share or something like that to change.

Any ideas?

Windows hardware drivers will not work in Wine. If the printer is installed in
CUPS, apps running in Wine should just see it. Can you print from Wine notepad?

Hi dimesio

No, I have not tried that.  I can print from other apps such as OO etc.

Will give Wine notepad a try over the weekend.
