[Wine] WC3 - Can´t connect to Battle.Net and can´t find lan games
Hi, My distribution is Debian 5.0 "Lenny" stable. I?ve got Wine 1.0.1 and I?ve installed Warcraft III on it. If I try to connect to Battle.Net, it says, that it can?t connect and if I search for games in lan, I can?t find anything.

1.1.27 is the latest, but is it already stable? And does the update solve my problem?

Although I do play WC3 from time to time I have never played battlenet so I have never tested this.

No 9999 that means you have to find the solution if you can't connect read the AppDB and check if anyone is having the same issue as you. You'll usually find it in bugzilla all but for specific ones look up the program/game on AppDB, right below the ratings you'll see bug reports if anyone of them match check if anyone has solved them or there is a patch. If you do find one come back here and I'll explain how to patch wine from source, for now I'll try WarCraft 3 maybe I'll find what the problem is.

Yeah I noticed once I checked the page, I don't play WarCraft 3 anymore but this why you always check AppDB first.

I don?t know if it matters, but I have used aptitude to install gip.

I?ve installed git-core now. If I use the command Code: git clone git://repo.or.cz/wine/war?craft3.git wine-war3 now, it displays ths: Code: Initialized empty Git repository in /root/wine-war3/.git/ fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

Maybe you installed W3 wrong or perhaps you copied your W3 installation from Windows which doesn't do the trick. W3 runs correctly and smoothly to original B.Net and PvPGNs under any Wine version. I had Debian Lenny for quite some time now and been playing W3 for 2 years. Atm on Debian Squeeze where Wine doesn't work at all strangely.
