fixme:ddraw:User_DirectDraw_GetCaps unsupported structure versions
Hi: I can't get Red Alert (The old version, not Red Alert II) to work with wine. This is suprising since the Apps database on winehq.com has three entries that say Red Alert works. For me the screen goes black and stays that way. I get out of it by killing X witn Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. This the the error output from wine: Invoking /opt/wine/bin/wine.bin /WIN95/westwood/redalert/ra95.exe ... Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "grey" fixme:ddeml:DdeConnect (0x1,49161,49163,(nil)): stub fixme:ddeml:DdeNameService (1,49161,0,1): stub fixme:dsound:IDirectSoundImpl_SetCooperativeLevel (0x40366f48,00000138,2):stub fixme:ddraw:Main_DirectDraw_SetCooperativeLevel (0x4038f7e8)->(00000138,00000011) fixme:ddraw:User_DirectDraw_GetCaps unsupported structure versions: 316/380 vs 380 fixme:ddraw:User_DirectDraw_GetCaps unsupported structure versions: 316/380 vs 380 If it matters, my WIN95 partition is Windows Me. And, I using CodeWeavers version of wine: codeweavers-wine-20010112-1.i386.rpm Did something change since the entries into the winehq database? Or, am I doing something wrong? Thanks, George

And, I using CodeWeavers > version of wine: > codeweavers-wine-20010112-1.i386.rpmThe breakage was a result of the DirectDraw restructuring that happened when our 2D code was submitted to WineHQ. This is fixed in the current AFPL-ed TransGaming patch, but it hasn't made it back into WineHQ yet due to some CVS trouble we're having. -Gav -- Gavriel State, CEO TransGaming Technologies Inc. http://www.transgaming.com gav@transgaming.com
