Nut upsdev - May 2010 - configure script doesn't use result of glib test

I just set up another Ubuntu 8.04 slave, and I must not have installed  
all of the prerequisites, like the GLib headers:

I can look into this later, but if I recall, we are eventually moving  
away from HAL towards some other desktop power management software.

Is it worth fixing this corner case?

Fixing this is easy, so I see no reason why we shouldn't do this (even  
when we drop the HAL support somewhere in the near future). I will  
commit a patch in a couple of minutes.
