I am trying to install the HP PSP on a CentOS 3.4 server but it keeps telling me, only on certain rpms mind you, that the OS is not supported. I have made the modifications to redhat-release which cleared up some of the initial errors I was having but not all. Where else would the rpms be getting the OS info from? Better yet, has anyone managed to get the Linux PSP to install on a CentOS box? Thanks Chris

Ok, changed them but still the same issue. Could it be that it needs to be restarted or something reloaded? Thanks for the pointer! [CentOS] Hewlett Packard Server support packs
From: Johnny Hughes <mailing-lists at hughesjr.com>> maybe /etc/issue and /etc/issue.net/etc/issue and /etc/issue.net are typically generated on Fedora-based systems in /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit at boot-time using uname and/or /etc/*-release. -- Bryan J. Smith mailto:b.j.smith at ieee.org
I recently spent 2 days fighting with a bug in CentOS 4 relating to the PSP for RHEL4. I am still putting the details together, but there is definitely a bug that impacts the Qlogic 2214 HBA driver under CentOS 4, but not RHEL 4. That being said, I was able to install PSPs on a DL580 G2 under Centos 3 and 4 by changing redhat/centos-release.> -----Original Message----- > From: centos-bounces at centos.org > [mailto:centos-bounces at centos.org] On Behalf Of Chris Hammond > Sent: Wednesday, May 11, 2005 12:40 PM > To: CentOS mailing list > Subject: [CentOS] Hewlett Packard Server support packs > > I am trying to install the HP PSP on a CentOS 3.4 server but > it keeps telling me, only on certain rpms mind you, that the > OS is not supported.
