[Asterisk-Users] Aaargh Gentoo updated some packages now * won't start
After emerging some updates this morning asterisk 1.0.3 fails to start I get the following errors: ..Jan 6 00:39:24 WARNING[28998]: chan_zap.c:765 zt_open: Unable to specify channel 1: No such device or address Jan 6 00:39:24 ERROR[28998]: chan_zap.c:6197 mkintf: Unable to open channel 1: No such device or address here = 0, tmp->channel = 1, channel = 1 Jan 6 00:39:24 ERROR[28998]: chan_zap.c:9141 setup_zap: Unable to register channel '1' Jan 6 00:39:24 WARNING[28998]: loader.c:345 ast_load_resource: chan_zap.so: load_module failed, returning -1 Jan 6 00:39:24 WARNING[28998]: loader.c:440 load_modules: Loading module chan_zap.so failed! root # Ouch ... error while writing audio data: : Broken pipe I already re-emerged asterisk and zaptel but it's still not working. Ideas anyone?

My suggestion is: don't use emerge for *. I am a big fan of Gentoo and emerge, but some packages are just not mantained well. I had a lot of strange problems when using emerge to install *. Just check it out from CVS and compile manually. This also makes it easier to apply various pathes.
