After spending a week trying to get Asterisk to work with Galaxy Voice, both myself and another gentleman have opted to drop them. They only want to support limited hardware, and it does not include asterisk. THey sent us both the exact same information, and none of it was worth a darn. On a singularly positive note however, they are giving a full refund on the services. Search the list, there should be more info. Short Answer: Vonage doesn't support Asterisk, but you MAY be able to get it to work by defeating their security and encryption. BroadVoice seems promising, as they've talked about debuting * support in May. They have better prices than Vonage. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of James Moran Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2004 10:37 AM To: Asterisk Subject: [Asterisk-Users] VOIP providers Is anyone signed up with Vonage and using an asterisks box?? Voiceglo works well using SIP. Email me if you need configuration info. On Tue, 2004-04-27 at 09:36, James Moran wrote:> Is anyone signed up with Vonage and using an asterisks box?? > Also what VOIP providers would anyone recommend?

We have a vonage adaptor talking to our asterisk server via an Fxo card. Seems to work ok. James, I don't see what the problem would be. If you do SIP and Net2Phones does SIP they should be able to take your traffic. You will need to contact them, I guess via their web site, and ask the question about Astrisk PBX connecting to them via SIP. Kurt __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? James & Kurt, I was also looking at using net2phone to get a UK 0800 number! However, I was put off, as you can not sign up to their broadband offering, unless you take their analogue phone (FXS) gateway for $99. It is a InnoMedia MTA 3328-2. According to the archive, someone has connected to net2phone by editing chan_sip.c and changed User-Agent: "Asterisk PBX" to "Cisco ATA 186". (Which, at some point, they must have provided instead) I guess they are fussy about what hardware you connect with..... I am currently using http://www.voiptalk.org/ with no problems! They do a PAYG service with good rates and a national-rate incoming 0845 number. (Which is also presented on out-going calls) Rgds, Robert -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com]On Behalf Of Kurt Sent: 28 April 2004 15:58 To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Re: VoIP Providers James, I don't see what the problem would be. I signed up with fonality and so far they've been awesome compared to vonage and voiceglo (the quality is SWEET, maybe I'm just used to vonage) I called their 877 number too and actually got to talk to a knowledgeable person...I asked them for a feature and they added it the same day. BTW, their FAQ page works for me. -Samy>>Roy wrote: >>>Check out Fonality (http://www.fonality.com) >> >>Umm, I did: >> >>Their 877 number yields a "We're sorry, that number has been disconnected." >> >>Their FAQ has a big series of questions, but the links for each question >>are simply a link to the FAQ page itself. >> >>Is this a simulated ITSP? >> >>B. > >Hi, > >I've had some very prompt emails from fonality.
