[Dovecot] more unexpected results from 0.99.13 -> 1.0beta8 upgrade
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Just to give some more information about this: Apparently some of our POP3 users are saying that when they checked for new mail this morning that all the mail that was saved on the server was downloaded again as unread mail. I followed the guidelines in the wiki [1] with regards to upgrading from 0.99 to 1.0, made sure the .subscriptions and .customflags files were renamed to subscriptions and dovecot-keywords respectively yet the subscriptions were not maintained (i.e. users had to re-subscribe after the update) here's my config information, can you give me any hints as to what went wrong? [root at mail root]# dovecot -n protocols: imap imaps pop3 pop3s ssl_cert_file: /usr/share/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem ssl_key_file: /usr/share/ssl/private/dovecot.pem disable_plaintext_auth: no login_dir: /var/run/dovecot/login login_executable(default): /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap-login login_executable(imap): /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap-login login_executable(pop3): /usr/libexec/dovecot/pop3-login login_greeting_capability(default): yes login_greeting_capability(imap): yes login_greeting_capability(pop3): no verbose_proctitle: yes default_mail_env: maildir:~/Maildir:INDEX=/var/indexes/%u:CONTROL=/var/control/%u maildir_copy_with_hardlinks: yes mail_executable(default): /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap mail_executable(imap): /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap mail_executable(pop3): /usr/libexec/dovecot/pop3 mail_plugin_dir(default): /usr/lib/dovecot/imap mail_plugin_dir(imap): /usr/lib/dovecot/imap mail_plugin_dir(pop3): /usr/lib/dovecot/pop3 pop3_uidl_format(default): pop3_uidl_format(imap): pop3_uidl_format(pop3): %08Xu%08Xv pop3_client_workarounds(default): pop3_client_workarounds(imap): pop3_client_workarounds(pop3): outlook-no-nuls oe-ns-eoh namespace: type: private separator: / location: maildir:~/Maildir:INDEX=/var/indexes/%u:CONTROL=/var/control/%u inbox: yes auth default: master_user_separator: * passdb: driver: pam userdb: driver: passwd [root at mail root]# dovecot --version 1.0.beta8 the machine is running RHEL 3 and kept up to date on a regular basis. But if you already changed it, changing it back would cause the users again to get the mails twice. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
