We created 10,000 zfs file systems with no data in them yet, and it seems after we did this our boot up process takes over an hour. This is on a v210 with 1gb of memory. We''ve rebooted the machine twice and it still takes an hour, and the system does have the latest Solaris 10 patches installed. Does there need to be any kernel parameter Changes in Solaris 10 Sparc to allow the mount process on boot-up to be faster? We do have any alerts or warnings in the /var/adm/message log. Before we created all these ZFS file systems our reboot process would take minutes to boot back up. This message posted from opensolaris.org

Actual mounts are not as lightweight as they could be.> Does there need to be any kernel parameter Changes in Solaris 10 Sparc > to allow the mount process on boot-up to be faster? One thread suggested that 10K filesystems should not take that long... http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=67722 -- Darren Dunham ddunham at taos.com Senior Technical Consultant TAOS http://www.taos.com/ Got some Dr Pepper?
