See the man page: Because scrubbing and resilvering are I/O-intensive operations, ZFS only allows one at a time. If a scrub is already in progress, the "zpool scrub" command ter- minates it and starts a new scrub. If a resilver is in progress, ZFS does not allow a scrub to be started until the resilver completes. -Mark

Pool was''nt just imported however server was cleanly rebooted. Perhaps this is a "resilvering" of the ditto blocks triggered by the checksum error flagged above. I don''t know off the top of my head... I will have to chat with the SPA guys. -Mark
