Hi Folks, I''ve set up a simple zpool on my workstation just to get a feel for what it can do. It''s on a spare disk which I gave over wholly to ZFS (though previously did have some data on it). It didn''t have anything too important so it wasn''t mirrored. (Incidently I was impressed with how quick and easy it was to set up) I was running a DEBUG kernel and wanted to go back to a non debug kernel so used live upgrade to copy my config (disk:c) to a new boot environment (disk:a) and was rebooting to check that was fine before installing on the original (disk:c). Unfortunately while rebooting the system hung for reasons now lost to me, and on reboot in to (disk:a) I got the following panic. panic[cpu0]/thread=2a101209cc0: ZFS: bad checksum (read on /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2 off d4147da00: zio 600050d74c0 [L0 SPA space map] vdev=0 offset=d4107da00 size=1000L/a00P/a00A fletcher4 lzjb BE contiguous birth=39878 fill=1 cksum=9781ac3efc:cf4e4ac86791:ad49c7421f062a:6ba9f98513e199a3): error 50 000002a101209810 zfs:zio_done+208 (600050d74c0, 60003e2cac0, 7026a450, 7026b8a8, 600037551c0, 60005022e40) %l0-3: 000000000180c000 0000000000000032 0000000000000032 000002a1012098d4 %l4-7: 000000007b21ccc0 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 00000600050d7708 000002a101209a00 genunix:taskq_thread+1a0 (60002fd9608, 60002fd9660, 50001, 31f405bd16, 2a101209aca, 2a101209ac8) %l0-3: 0000000000010000 0000060002fd963a 0000060002fd9638 0000060002fd9630 %l4-7: 0000060002fd43f0 0000000000000002 0000000000000000 0000060002fd9628 syncing file systems... 1 done dumping to /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s1, offset 108396544, content: kernel even when booting single user (-m milestone=none worked fine for recovery purposes) Reading the bug reports this is down to a corrupt zpool, but now I can''t seem to do anything with it. Any suggestions? The dumps are available, If you want them I''ll mail you the location. Chris -- Christopher Beal Senior Staff Engineer OP/N1-RPE Sun Microsystems http://blogs.sun.com/cwb
