zfs discuss - Nov 2005 - ZFS in user space

Congratulations on getting this out in the open - yummm, so much to read.

Are there instructions on building the user level ZFS version (probably some
library?)

If you download the OpenSolaris sources, it is built in
usr/src/lib/libzpool.  Keep in mind this is _just_ the SPA and DMU (no
filesystem interfaces).  See usr/src/cmd/ztest and usr/src/cmd/zdb for
the two consumers.
