Right now, initiating the replacement of a failed device (via "zpool replace") must be done outside of the ZFS framework. The solution will come with the integration of ZFS with the Solaris Fault Management Architecture (FMA) when we write a proper Diagnosis Engine (DE) for ZFS. This work is currently underway, but not in the bits we just released.> Thanks for this really great filesystemYou''re welcome. Thanks for taking a look. --Bill
Hotspares are not currently integrated with ZFS. This is on our list of future projects (which we''re cleaning up to put on the community page). I will add a FAQ item until this is implemented. - Eric On Thu, Nov 17, 2005 at 06:31:23PM +0100, Willi Burmeister wrote:> Hi, > > I could not find any hints about hotspares with zfs. > Are hotspares not possible? > > Thanks for this really great filesystem > > Willi > > > _______________________________________________ > zfs-discuss mailing list > zfs-discuss at opensolaris.org > http://opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/zfs-discuss-- Eric Schrock, Solaris Kernel Development http://blogs.sun.com/eschrock
