Hi Everyone, I want to use XEN on Scientific Linux 6 and found the following article which describe how to set it up: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/RHEL6Xen4Tutorial Is anyone using XEN on Scientific Linux 6 or even CentOS 6 for that matter in a production environment? How''s it working? Have you run into any problems or pitfalls? And, w.r.t to the wiki article, how would I update XEN if it''s installed like this? -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers SoftDux Website: http://www.SoftDux.com Technical Blog: http://Blog.SoftDux.com Cell: 082 554 7532 Fax: 086 268 8492
Did you check out https://www.crc.id.au/xen-on-rhel6-scientific-linux-6-centos-6-howto/ ? Their repository provides rpm for RHEL 6.x and as far as i recall the current available version is Xen 4.1.3. Hi Ricardo, I had a look at that page as well, but that still doesn''t tell me how updates are done, or if this method have been used in production systems. Is this a reliable source? FWIW, both https://www.crc.id.au/xen-on-rhel6-scientific-linux-6-centos-6-howto/ and http://au1.mirror.crc.id.au/repo/x86_64/ looks pretty up-to-date. I don''t know why they use a separate kernel-xen package though, latest vanilla kernel should work just fine. Or it probably just use -xen in the name :) -- Fajar
Hi Fajar, If I have to ask this question on that list, which isn''t mainstream XEN, then I guess a) no one used XEN on RH6 servers and b) there''s very little support for it.
