I have tried to change from the file:/ storage to the tap:aio on my HVM guest, but the guest won''t start. Configuration used: disk = [ ''tap:aio:/home/xen/domains/firewall/m0n0.img,hda,w'' ] System: kernel 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64, Xen version 4.0.1 (Debian 4.0.1-2) Has anyone tried this? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Hi Josef,> > Configuration used: > disk = [ ''tap:aio:/home/xen/domains/firewall/m0n0.img,hda,w'' ] > > System: > kernel 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64, Xen version 4.0.1 (Debian 4.0.1-2)Since Xen 4.0.1, you must use blktap2. See : http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/blktap2. In order to get blktap2 working in the Xen Debian packages, you need to apply those 2 patches : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=586772#30. I hope this help, let me know. See : > http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/blktap2.tap:aio should work regardless of what version your Xen is (well, for Xen >=3 anyway). If it doesn''t work then something is wrong in your setup (some config options not included maybe). It may be Debian-specific bug, in which case you should file a bug report to Debian. The whole mess about tap vs tap2 should only matter if you use tap:tapdisk (like tap:tapdisk:aio) -- Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
