[Xen-users] Network down when upgrade to xen 4.0.1 on centOS 5.5
Hello, We have default xen 3.1.2 on centOS 5.5. We now want to upgrade xen 3.1.2 to xen 4.0.1 while using the existing dom0 kernel (2.6.18). I followed the instructions on http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Xen4.0 hg clone -r RELEASE-4.0.1 http://xenbits.xen.org/xen-4.0-testing.hg cd xen-4.0-testing.hg make xen make tools make stubdom make install-xen make install-tools make install-stubdom And at last, we update the grub.conf/menu.lst to use the newly installed * Xen* 4.0 hypervisor. The menu.lst is attached as follows: title CentOS (2.6.18-194.32.1.el5xen) root (hd0,0) #kernel /xen.gz-2.6.18-194.32.1.el5 kernel /xen-4.0.1.gz module /vmlinuz-2.6.18-194.32.1.el5xen ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet module /initrd-2.6.18-194.32.1.el5xen.img Due to some policy, we use static ip address. The network setup is exactly the same before and after the change from " /xen.gz-2.6.18-194.32.1.el5" to "/xen-4.0.1.gz ". But it seems that the network is down after reboot. Could anyone know my mistake or problem? -- Cheers, Wenda Ni, Ph.D. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Then set up the required bridges using the centos network scripts instead, ie. /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg*. -- Pasi _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
