[Xen-users] A problem with the xen performance when the block device count is more than 8
I have a problem with the xen performance when the block device count is more than 8, anyone can help me? The system is centos5.5xen, and the DomU is also a centos5.5, and there are about 70 block devices. The xen version is 3.0. When I test in domain-0, the I/O throughput performance is scale with the block device count. But when I test in DomU, the performance is not scale when the block device count is more than 8. Device count Dom0 perf(MB/s) DomU perf(MB/s) 1 384 236 2 607 312.8 4 925.6 874 8 1205.5 1253 16 1579.3 677.8 24 1969 493.8 32 1893.3 501.9 40 1873.7 535.9 48 1782 556.7 56 1553.4 565.3 64 1753.4 571.5 Can anyone help me? [Xen-users] Re: A problem with the xen performance when the block device count is more than 8
I have tried many choices as below: 15 cores, 8 cores, 4 cores, or 1 cores, The threads count scales 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, ...... 64, But they do not work. thanks! 2011/2/12 Javier Guerra Giraldez [via Xen] < ml-node+3382395-1237507528-149727@n5.nabble.com>> On Thu, Feb 10, 2011 at 4:46 AM, hebzhw <[hidden email]<http://user/SendEmail.jtp?type=node&node=3382395&i=0>> > wrote: > > But when I test in DomU, the performance is not scale > > when the block device count is more than 8. > > just a hunch, how many cores/threads do you have on your system? > > -- > Javier > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > [hidden email] <http://user/SendEmail.jtp?type=node&node=3382395&i=1> > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users > > > ------------------------------ > If you reply to this email, your message will be added to the discussion > below: > > http://xen.1045712.n5.nabble.com/A-problem-with-the-xen-performance-when-the-block-device-count-is-more-than-8-tp3379035p3382395.html > To unsubscribe from A problem with the xen performance when the block > device count is more than 8, click here<http://xen.1045712.n5.nabble.com/template/NamlServlet.jtp?macro=unsubscribe_by_code&node=3379035&code=anVudi56aGFuZ0BnbWFpbC5jb218MzM3OTAzNXwxNDUwNjY1MDE4>. > >-- View this message in context: http://xen.1045712.n5.nabble.com/A-problem-with-the-xen-performance-when-the-block-device-count-is-more-than-8-tp3379035p3382407.html Sent from the Xen - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
