Hi , Where can I get the linux kernel which can run as a dom0 ? I''ve heard dom0-kernel has been merged into the linux kernel tree,is it? I can''t find out beackend device (for example blkback) in the latest 2.6.36 source but the frontend devices(for example drivers/block/xen-blkfront.c ). Xen dom0 support has been merged in 2.6.37-rc1, so it will be available in 2.6.37 and later kernels. AFAIK, the backend drivers are not merged yet, but will follow soon in one of the subsequent versions of the mainline kernel. Until the mainline kernels are really usable as dom0 kernels, you should try out Jeremy''s pv_ops stable tree: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/xen/stable-2.6.32.x Those 2.6.32.x kernels are patched with full pv_ops dom0 and backend drivers and are supported by Xen''s kernel developers. Hello, i just compiled xen 4.0 testing (4.0.2) from the mercurial repositories. The hypervisor starts and boots the dom0, but i can''t start xend. I always get the following error: sudo /etc/init.d/xend start Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/sbin/xend", line 36, in <module> from xen.xend.server import SrvDaemon ImportError: No module named xen.xend.server I already googled a lot but can''t find a suitable answer. Can anyone tell me what''s wrong? mfg Romep -- Empfehlen Sie GMX DSL Ihren Freunden und Bekannten und wir belohnen Sie mit bis zu 50,- Euro! https://freundschaftswerbung.gmx.de _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

This is normally a bad pythonpath error for xen modules. If you are on Ubuntu 10.04+ (or higher) then you should have used sudo make install-tools PYTHON_PREFIX_ARG= <--- empty the above will keep xen py modules in /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/ instead of /lib/python2.6 (as above) once you boot up ls -al /dev/xen evtchn gntdev if not then /etc/modules xen-evtchn xen-gntdev -- Mark --- On Fri, 12/31/10, Rome Pierce <romep@gmx.de> wrote:> From: Rome Pierce <romep@gmx.de> > Subject: [Xen-users] Can''t start xend > To: xen-users@lists.xensource.com > Date: Friday, December 31, 2010, 3:00 PM > Hello, > > i just compiled xen 4.0 testing (4.0.2) from the mercurial > repositories.
