Hi, I have recently installed Xen 4 on top of Ubuntu 10.04 (inside a VMware virtual machine) and the performance sucks!! Everything works fine but the Dom0 environment is pretty slow compared to other Ubuntu VMs (without Xen) I am running. I remember some hints about disabling tls library to boost the performance! I wonder if disabling tls is still helpful for speeding up the recent versions of Xen or not? How does it really help?! Is the slow speed normal or something is wrong with my environment? Any advice is appreciated. --Afshar; _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Install U 10.04 as Xen 4 ( bare metal) PV guest and U 10.04 as VMWare guest on similar hardware ( dual boot) and make benchmarking to find out what sucks. I guess ESX may run on bare metal as well. Geee I wonder why ? XEN is designed to run on the hardware itself, not in a virtual machine On Mon, Aug 16, 2010 at 10:48 PM, Afshar Ganjali <afshar_g@yahoo.com> wrote:> > Hi, > > I have recently installed Xen 4 on top of Ubuntu 10.04 (inside a VMware > virtual machine) and the performance sucks!!
