[Xen-devel] [VLAN tagging on XenServer 5.6 with Dual Port 10GbE FCoE]
Hi, we have a big problem, my hardware are two host XenServer 5.6 server IBM x3850 with Dual Port 10GbE FCoE (qle8152) and switch Cisco nexus 5020 For the CNA driver I followed this instructions: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX126185/ After reboot, I have the new ethX (FCoE) and everything seems to work fine. But we have a big problem only if we use the nic FCoE (10GbE) with the vlan trunking. (after configuring the switch and create the vlan on both XenServer) - If I create 2 VMs on the same VLAN and on the same host, they can talk to each other (ping and ssh and all protocols work correctly) - If I create 2 VMs on the same VLAN on different hosts they cannot talk to each other (ping are OK but ssh and all protocols TCP do not work properly) We have tested on RedHat5.5 with xensource (on the same hardware) and the VM (with vlan trunking) are ok. But we want to use XenServer 5.6 and buy the license to use the support because we have buy many hardware. We opened a case to qlogic http://solutions.qlogic.com/KanisaSupportSite/mysupport/viewsr.do?srNumber=70042682 Citrix has also opened a problem http://solutions.qlogic.com/KanisaSupportSite/mysupport/viewsr.do?srNumber=70042926 Any idea ? My first thought is that you have to disable TCP Checksum offloading. There should be plenty of documentation on how to do this from a simple Google search. [Xen-devel] Re: [VLAN tagging on XenServer 5.6 with Dual Port 10GbEFCoE]
We are seeing the what appears to be the same problem on a HP BL465c using an onboard Emulex 10GB card. Traces show the same checksum errors reported here. We removed the bond to get it out of the way. But we''re still using vlan tagging. we don''t have this issue if we move it to one of the interfaces on the 4 port Broadcom card. Disabled checksum offloading in the WIN VM and in XS on each of the PIFs and VIFs. Emulex Firmware = 2.102.485.4 Emulex Driver = 2.102.313 -- View this message in context: http://xen.1045712.n5.nabble.com/VLAN-tagging-on-XenServer-5-6-with-Dual-Port-10GbE-FCoE-tp3199752p3268537.html Sent from the Xen - Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

For questions about XenServer, your best bet is to use the Citrix forums. You''ll get much better support there. This is the place to report errors relating to open-source Xen. http://forums.citrix.com/support -George On Wed, Nov 17, 2010 at 3:44 AM, Matt Darlington <mdarlington@itxen.com> wrote:> We are seeing the what appears to be the same problem on a HP BL465c using > an onboard Emulex 10GB card.
