[Xen-devel] [PATCH][VTD] fix vt-d feature boot messages
Changed vt-d feature boot messages from "supported" to "enabled" since they reflect what is currently enabled in this Xen boot - not what is supported by VT-d hardware. Also, changed reference to "VT-d DMA Passthrough" to "VT-d Passthrough in Context Entry" to make it less alarming to the reader. It *is* DMA passthrough, although it would be worth noting in the message that it is for dom0 only. -- Keir> Signed-off-by: Allen Kay allen.m.kay@intel.com > > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-devel mailing list > Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel_______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

Unfortunately, this overloads "passthrough" with two different meanings. (1) direct assignment and (2) VT-d translation passthrough. Numerous people has asked about this message whenever VT-d does not work for them - thinking device assignment is not enabled.
