Hi I am having some cpufreq issues and saw on xen lists that few of the others encountered similar issues as well. I have some old dual core opteron 275''s. I cannot get the CPUfreq to change in userspace. In fact, only boot option cpufreq=dom0-kernel works and the system can only have ondemand governor, which works fine except for the Timer ISR/1: Time went backwards: delta=-17745355 delta_cpu=32254645 shadow=118262323582 off=721415126 processed=119001483597 cpu_processed=118951483597 messages. Whenever I try cpufreq=xen option (or as per default nothing), I get kernel oops. Is it the case that these processors cannot have userspace governor in Xen? My cpufreq=Xen dmesg is as follows Bootdata ok (command line is root=/dev/mapper/volume_1-host_disk ro console=tty0 max_loop=32 netloop.nloopbacks=8) Linux version 2.6.18.8-xen (root@vorpalblade1) (gcc version 4.2.4 (Ubuntu 4.2.4-1ubuntu4)) #2 SMP Wed Dec 9 17:25:32 EST 2009 BIOS-provided physical RAM map: Xen: 0000000000000000 - 00000000f4cd8000 (usable) DMI 2.3 present.
