[Xen-devel] Unexpected error: exceptions.OSError - Setting up Windows XP HVM
Hello everybody, i have a problem setting up a DomU with Windows XP. I get the following error: xen:/etc/xen# xm create windows.hvm Using config file "./windows.hvm". VNC= 1 Unexpected error: exceptions.OSError Please report to xen-devel@lists.xensource.com Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/xen-3.1-1/bin/xm", line 7, in ? main.main(sys.argv) File "/usr/lib/xen-3.1-1/lib/python/xen/xm/main.py", line 2453, in main _, rc = _run_cmd(cmd, cmd_name, args) File "/usr/lib/xen-3.1-1/lib/python/xen/xm/main.py", line 2477, in _run_cmd return True, cmd(args) File "<string>", line 1, in <lambda> File "/usr/lib/xen-3.1-1/lib/python/xen/xm/main.py", line 1266, in xm_importcommand cmd.main([command] + args) File "/usr/lib/xen-3.1-1/lib/python/xen/xm/create.py", line 1319, in main dom = make_domain(opts, config) File "/usr/lib/xen-3.1-1/lib/python/xen/xm/create.py", line 1064, in make_domain os.kill(vncpid, signal.SIGKILL) OSError: [Errno 3] No such process I use Xen 3.1-1 and Kernel 2.6.18-5 (dom0). The machine is a Intel Core 2 Duo 1,86 Ghz with VT ( i get the flag via /proc/cpuinfo). I installed the Packages not from Source. I installed them via apt (Debian package tool). Xend is started and so on...Everything looks fine. Here the configuration File from the hvm: kernel = ''hvmloader'' builder = ''hvm'' name= ''winxp'' acpi = 0 vncviewer = 1 keymap = ''de'' disk = [ ''file:/etc/xen/domains/windows/winxp.disk,ioemu:hda,w''] cdrom = ''/dev/cdrom'' boot = ''d'' vif = [ ''type=ioemu'' ] device_model = ''/usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm'' Any suggestions? Re: [Xen-devel] Unexpected error: exceptions.OSError - Setting up Windows XP HVM
Hello again, i figured out that when i disable vnc support (vnc = 0) i dont get this error message. BUT i have another problem...I get the error that the HVM guest support is unavailable...I have a valid cpu but i realized that the mainboard is kinda mod of HP. So in the BIOS there is no possibility to enable or disable VT. Does that mean that i cant boot any hvm machine? regards Alexandros Alexandros Manakos schrieb:> Hello everybody, > > i have a problem setting up a DomU with Windows XP.
